LEVOTHYROXINE (or t4) treats low thyroid levels (hypothyroidism) in your body. It works by replacing a thyroid hormone normally made by the body. Thyroid hormones play an important role in your overall health. They help support metabolism and energy levels.
The thyroid gland makes thyroid hormones which help to control energy levels and growth. Levothyroxine is taken to replace the missing thyroid hormone thyroxine.
Levothyroxine is taken to replace the missing thyroid hormone thyroxine.
Also research also shows when used with hgh human growth hormone, it does increase results.
Effects
Levothyroxine is used to treat an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism). It replaces or provides more thyroid hormone, which is normally produced by the thyroid gland. Low thyroid hormone levels can occur naturally or when the thyroid gland is injured by radiation/medications or removed by surgery.
This medicine is also used to help decrease the size of enlarged thyroid glands (also called a goiter).
Doses
The dose of levothyroxine varies from person to person.
Take levothyroxine once a day in the morning, ideally at least 30 minutes before having breakfast or a drink containing caffeine, like tea or coffee.
Food and caffeinated drinks can both stop your body taking in levothyroxine properly so it does not work as well.
If you stop taking levothyroxine, your symptoms are likely to come back.
Cycles
Treatment with levothyroxine is usually lifelong. If you stop taking levothyroxine your symptoms are likely to come back.
